The Words and Worlds of Laura Jaluvka

Hi, I'm Laura (she/her). Welcome to my little corner of the web. You want to know who I am and what I do, huh?

I'm a storyteller. Well, technically, I'm a queer neurodivergent elder millennial software engineer, but storytelling is my passion.

I write science fiction and fantasy stories. Most of my characters are also some form of queer and/or neurodivergent. They're out there living their best lives: fighting battles, hunting monsters, piloting spaceships, guarding princes, falling in and out of relationships, and having adventures.

I enjoy playing computer games and tinkering with them. The lost genres of the late 90s hold a special place in my heart. Things like dungeon crawlers and space fighter sims. I also enjoy strategy, simulation, and turn-based tactics. My favorite games have an element of emergent storytelling. I often go deep into roleplaying and create whole narratives around these playthroughs. Sometimes I share them as after-action reports.

I also play tabletop RPGs, board games, and miniature wargames.

This website is where I keep my projects, share my thoughts, and ramble about my favorite things. It's an ode to happier times on the internet and a flag planted on an independent slice of cyberspace.

It's a little barebones at the moment. More content will arrive soon. In the meantime, you can check out this old-school list of Stuff I Love.
